A scene in the artist's garden at Wormingford, painted in the winter of 1958–9, probably in the New Year (letter from the artist, 10 July 1959). An oil painting of ‘Frozen Ponds’ was also exhibited at the R.A. in 1959 (94, repr. Royal Academy Illustrated, 1959, p.71).
