P07521 STARVING FIREMAN 1979
Inscribed ‘Alechinsky’ top centre and ‘1979’ and ‘4/30’
Etching, printed and published by Maeght Editeur, Paris, 13 5/8×8 1/4 (34.5×20.9)
Purchased from Maeght Editeur (Grant-in-Aid) 1981
One of a number of drawings and prints made on ‘found’ papers with manuscript or printing, dating from about 1977. The sheet is apparently from an old firestation daybook, and is so heavily light-stained as to appear almost singed; it is mounted on a sheet of thick handmade paper.
